The Buildapc Discord server is looking for new bouncers

Over on our Discord server, we’re opening up applications for volunteer bouncers to join our team. This is a role that includes moderating for our server rules, keeping conversation on topic and friendly, and generally offering a positive and welcoming presence. There is no minimum time contribution required, but we’re looking for active, engaged volunteers to help out whenever they can. Check out the form below to submit your application, and feel free to send us a (reddit) modmail or a (discord) admin mail if you have any queries about what the role entails. Best of luck!

Community consultation: allowing build requests

Over on the subreddit, we’re holding a community consultation about a potential rule change. This would allow users to post requests for full builds, which are currently banned. This would entail a rewording of rule 2, as well as the following changes:

  1. We would generate a new flair ‘Parts list request’ so that users can filter these posts according to their preference.
  2. Posts flaired ‘Parts list request’ would be prompted to give sufficient information for the community to make sound recommendations. Requested information would include:
  • Location
  • Budget (with currency specified)
  • The purpose of the PC
  • Any parts or peripherals currently owned

Head on over to /r/buildapc to weigh in on the changes!
